My goal as an instructor is to help each student at the level they're at and to create a positive encouraging atmosphere in which all can enjoy learning to paint. Painting is my passion and I'd love to share it with you!

Bring unfinished paintings or start a new one. Lots of one to one help with all painting techniques! All lost paintings can be rejuvenated with a little help!

Watercolour and Gouache are mediums that work magically together!
Gouache has become a very popular with artists. Its unique blend of water solubility and acrylic/oil's rich opacity, offers a vibrant, matte, velvety finish. It allows for layering, reworking and is very forgiving.
Watercolour flows and a creates spontaneous effects and is luminous and more transparent.
Together in a painting you can get the best of both mediums and use the qualities of both to create very fun results!
You can purchase some gouache paints or just buy white gouache and mix it with your watercolours to get opaque passages.

From thumbnail to finished painting, you'll learn step by step techniques on how to create depth and the effects of pure sunlight!
We'll start with an 'Imprimatura' (first layer) toning of the canvas which lays out the underlying colours. You'll then go through a few more stages of finding values with vibrant hues before laying in the brightest sunlit areas.I'll teach you how to SIMPLIFY all the unnecessary details which can be daunting when painting rocks, forests and water.
